01 Instructor-led classes

Shared capacity per class, one class per instructor at a time

In the service settings, set a limit in “Bookings each staff member takes at once” and choose Per person or Per booking. Bookings for the same service, staff member, and start and end time are combined into one class. Outside that class, the staff member still takes one booking at a time.

  • Same service, staff member, and start and end time count as one class
  • When customers don’t pick an instructor, Dolyu fills classes that already have bookings first
  • Overlapping slots with a different start time, or other services in the same slot, still count as a conflict
  • Each class appears as one card on the calendar; open it to see the roster and headcount

Students book on their own — several classes at once

When capacity is counted per person, remaining spots appear next to each time slot once a student picks an instructor or books a seat. Full slots close. When a booking is submitted, Dolyu checks the spots against the latest bookings.

03 Pricing method

Charge a flat rate per booking, or price by headcount

By default, a service has one price per booking, such as a compatibility reading priced for two. Turn on “Customers choose a headcount” and set a minimum and maximum. Customers pick their headcount when booking, the total is headcount × unit price, and capacity counted per person is deducted to match.

  1. 01 Flat rate per booking: families, private rooms, small groups
  2. 02 Headcount × unit price: group classes, events, experiences
  3. 03 Minimum and maximum headcount set per service

04 Shared venues & equipment

Rooms, classrooms, seats: one capacity shared across services

Add a venue or piece of equipment under Resources in the dashboard, set its capacity and counting method, then assign it to a service. Services assigned to the same resource share its capacity. Dolyu adds up all bookings and checks them against the limit.

Privately booked
  • Per booking: one booking takes 1 spot regardless of headcount; a capacity of 1 means private
  • Per person: headcounts from every booking add up, good for seating and events
  • Staff keep their own schedules, and the resource caps how many sessions run at once, e.g., 3 therapists and 2 rooms
  • Create a separate service per ticket type, assign the same resource, and capacity is combined

05 How to set it up

Two questions decide how you take bookings

How many bookings a slot can take depends on where the limit comes from and how capacity is counted. Choose a setup based on your answers, and Dolyu handles the rest.

01Does the limit come from staff, or from a venue or equipment?

02Is capacity counted per person, or per booking?

  1. A Staff-limited

    One-on-one

Each staff member takes one booking at a time, prep and buffer time included.

    Nails, hair, tutoring

    Dashboard setting

    Default, no extra setup

  2. B Staff-limited + Venue- or equipment-limited

    Staff + room

Each staff member has their own schedule, and the number of rooms caps how many sessions run at once.

    Massage, spa

    Dashboard setting

Assign a resource to the service, such as “Aromatherapy Room · Capacity 2”

  3. C Staff-limited · Per person

    Group class

Headcounts add up within a class. A booking for 2 takes 2 spots.

    Yoga, dance, baking classes

    Dashboard setting

“Bookings each staff member takes at once”: 12 people

  4. D Staff-limited · Per booking

    Small classes and storefronts

Up to 3 bookings per class, regardless of headcount.

    Small tutoring classes, in-store reception

    Dashboard setting

“Bookings each staff member takes at once”: 3 bookings

  5. E Venue- or equipment-limited · Per person

    Seating

No staff needed. Availability depends only on business hours and remaining seats.

Study rooms, open practice areas, talks

    Dashboard setting

“No staff needed” + resource counted Per person, Capacity 8

  6. F Venue- or equipment-limited · Per booking

    Private booking

No staff needed. One booking takes the whole room, and a capacity of 1 makes it private.

Private rooms, music practice rooms, escape rooms

    Dashboard setting

“No staff needed” + resource counted Per booking, Capacity 1

“Customers choose a headcount” can layer on top of any of these setups.

06 FAQ

Class & group booking FAQ

No. “Bookings each staff member takes at once”, resources, and “Customers choose a headcount” are all built into the standard plan.

It depends on where the limit comes from. If it’s how many people one instructor can teach, use “Bookings each staff member takes at once”. If you have a limited number of classrooms, rooms, or spots, use a resource.

You can use both. Say each instructor teaches up to 12 people per class and you have 2 classrooms. Adding a new student to an existing class doesn’t take another classroom. A second instructor teaching at the same time needs the second one.

1 seat. Billing is based on the number of team members in your business. Customers, students, and venues don’t count as seats.

Yes. On the calendar, each class appears as one card that shows how many people have booked. Open it to see each student and their headcount.

Yes. In Booking settings, turn on “Allow multi-slot bookings”. Students pick several time slots and submit them together, and either all are booked or none are. You set the maximum number of slots per booking.

Yes. Students can cancel or reschedule from the booking page until the “Cancellation / reschedule deadline” you set.

Yes. At the reminder times you set, students are notified by LINE or email before class.

Yes. Create two services, each with its own price, and assign both to the same resource. They share one capacity.

For instructor-led classes, we recommend one service with “Customers choose a headcount”, so a single booking can include several people.

“Customers choose a headcount” sets how many people one booking includes and how the total price is calculated. Capacity sets the limit for each time slot. With “Per person”, a booking of 3 takes 3 spots. With “Per booking”, a booking takes 1 spot no matter how many people it includes.

Set “Staff needed” to “No staff needed” and assign a resource counted “Per booking” with a capacity of 1. Once one booking is made, the slot stops accepting others. If you have 2 private rooms, set “Capacity” to 2.

Yes. Adjust that staff member’s schedule, for example to only 19:00–20:30 on Tuesdays. The booking page then opens only during that window. The “Slot interval” (10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes) sets which start times customers can pick.

Dolyu first adds the booking to a class that already has students and still has spots. Next, it looks for the staff member with the fewest appointments that day.

Customers can also book directly in a LINE chat.
